Feature release

New functionality:

See links to step-by-step guides on how to use the functionality.

Pre-populated attributes for static restrictions - Set default attributes for static order restrictions in the ‘Authority Settings’ area of Mapper.

Set public holiday operating hours - Specify operating hours for restrictions which only apply on public holidays within Mapper.

"Find a map tile" functionality - Find a specific map tile within large map schedule documents without having to search through the entire document.

Revocations in map schedules - Revocations are now displayed as a dotted, unfilled shape within the map schedule to better differentiate against feature additions. See the example below:

Improved tooltips for drawing tools - Additional tooltips to guide users better. See the example below:

Additionally, step-by-step guides on how to use all drawing tools can be found on the
Training Site.

Search by postcode - Search via postcode within the address search, as well as search accuracy improvements.

Prompt to refresh notifications - Following a platform release, you’ll now be prompted to refresh your browser so that you’re always using the latest version of the Traffic Suite.

Soon to be released:

Permitted vehicles - Specify all permitted vehicles for restrictions such as bus lanes and bus gates. This functionality moves away from the current process of recording them as exceptions. See the example below, outlining how you will specify permitted vehicles when drawing a new restriction.

Advisory/mandatory cycle lanes - Specify whether a cycle lane is advisory or mandatory. See the example below, outlining how you will specify a cycle lane type when drawing.

New drawing tools and restrictions:

Prohibition of overtaking tool - Tooling to record areas where overtaking is prohibited.

Prohibited access - Pedal cycles - Update the prohibited access tool to include the option to specify areas where pedal cycles are prohibited.

Other improvements:

Training Siteupdate - Thorough revamp of the training site to include guides covering all aspects of the Traffic Suite. The password to access is: "trainmeup"

Support dashboard - Release of a customer-facing dashboard where you can submit your support requests and monitor their progress, all within a single area.

Feedback surveys - Introduction of pulse surveys across Mapper to capture user feedback.

Lucky Orange session recording - Rollout of session recording of user activity, this can be reviewed if a technical issue is found, minimising investigation time so issues are fixed faster.

User research:

As well as building new features, we’re always looking for ways to expand the Traffic Suite to support other local authority departments outside of the immediate traffic management sphere. We have a number of ideas we’re currently exploring, which we’d be keen to chat with you about. If you wish to know more, please feel free to pencil some time in my calendar to discuss.

News and
Insights:

It’s been a busy quarter onboarding new Traffic Suite customers, and helping councils far and wide find efficiencies in their traffic order management process. This last quarter we welcomed Northumberland, Lambeth, North Somerset, Milton Keynes, Kingston Upon Thames, and Dublin!

Team Appy is also hitting the road sharing our knowledge and expertise. You can catch Appy Founder & CEO Dan Hubert live and on stage at the British Parking Association event 'Going Beyond Parking". With so much exciting change happening at our kerbsides, it's never been more critical for service providers to look for future-proofed solutions that empower them to navigate the kerbsides of today whilst preparing for the kerbsides of tomorrow.

You can also hear Customer Success Manager Mike Potter speaking at the East Anglia Parking Forum in June. If you’re attending either of these events do come and say hello!

If you have any questions, just hit reply and I’ll get back to you right away.
