Dear ,
Local government digital transformation is not only a necessity but a catalyst for a brighter, more efficient future. We were excited this month by the latest development from the Department for Transport (DfT), a letter to councils underscoring the urgency of moving towards digital traffic orders (DTROs)
This recent push from the DfT emphasises the vital role DTROs will play in unlocking future transport, enhancing traffic management, and reducing congestion on our roads. This is a significant step forward and is a key component of the government's Plan for Drivers, and it reflects a continued push for digital solutions that streamline and modernise local government processes and systems.
The transition to digital traffic orders is not just about staying ahead of the curve; it's about creating a safer, more sustainable, and interconnected transportation network that benefits us all.
As we look further ahead, we eagerly await the exciting developments with the National Parking Platform (NPP) that are on the horizon. These forthcoming changes will undoubtedly have a profoundly positive impact on how councils manage parking and how driver access and pay for parking, making the need for digital solutions even more crucial.
Here at AppyWay, we're committed to supporting the public sector on this journey towards a digital future. We'll continue to provide the latest insights, technologies, and tools to help you navigate these changes successfully.

AppyWay partners with Connected Kerb to revolutionise electric vehicle charging and parking
The UK needs to deploy 300,000 more electric vehicle (EV) chargers in the next decade to meet driver demands ahead of the 2035 ban on the sale of new internal combustion engine vehicles.
AppyWay and Connected Kerb have partnered to empower councils with the information they need to monitor EV charging facilities and plan rollout to scale their decarbonisation and net-zero ambitions. The solution also aims to transform the way drivers find available EV charging bays.

Our letter to the Secretary of State for Transport
This month with TRL and the kerbside taskforce, we published our letter to the Secretary of State for Transport urging for the inclusion of digital traffic orders (DTROs) in the Future Transport Bill.
DTROs inextricably complement the DfTs National Parking Platform and OLEV LEVI initiatives resulting in faster adoption with better ROI for the taxpayer.
The kerbside taskforce and other mobility leaders know this forward-thinking approach can help the UK maintain its leadership in sustainable transportation while simultaneously addressing pressing environmental concerns.
